About Me

I love cats. You’ve probably figured that out by now as I’m fairly sure I’ve mentioned it several dozen times on this website.

My childhood cat was a ginger called Toffee. He meant the world to me when I was growing up, and I was devasted when he passed away, although he led a long, happy life.

Since then, I’ve not been in a position to have my own cat. I’ve mainly lived in shared and rented houses, where my tenancy agreements have prevented me from having a cat in the house.

I am the offical cat-dad to Mia – the wonderful mini-panther that we rescued – although she lives with my partner.

Brighton Cat Snapper

A few years ago, when I lived in Brighton, I started a project called the Brighton Cat Snapper. The concept was simple – I would walk around Brighton & Hove in my spare time and take candid photos of cats being cats.

I posted these photos in a number of Facebook groups for Brighton cat lovers, and received many wonderful comments from their owners. I made the images available to the owners if they requested them.

The project served multiple purposes – 1) to give me a regular fix of cats, 2) to get me some much-needed exercise, and 3) to help me master the art of photographing wild animals.

Moving to Leicester

In February of 2021 I moved back to my hometown of Leicester. I’m very lucky because I quickly bonded with my neighbour over our love of cats – and they have some of their own. The cats regularly come to visit me, and I often play with them outside – so I manage to get a regular fix of feline fun!
